Inclusive Network

The Inclusive Network/Arc of St. Clair County is a grass roots organization run by parents, dedicated to helping families with children with disability become fully included in our society.  We advocate for full inclusion in school, from preschool through college. We believe all children should be educated together in the general education classroom, so that they can learn to respect and embrace differences.  We do not accept "separate but equal" as a justification for segregation for our children.

The Inclusive Network educates, supports, advocates and works to make system changes one family at a time. We believe that all children should be included in every aspect of community life, whether its education, employment, community or recreation.  We all belong together. Our motto is, ALL CHILDREN, ALL TOGETHER, ALL THE TIME.

Our members have children that range from toddlers to young adults. We meet to plan, organize and attend activities that move us forward towards inclusion for all.  We collaborate with school leaders, community members and other advocate organizations to work as a team to make inclusion happen in St. Clair County.  We provide summer activities for our play group that is fully inclusive.

We keep up to date on what is happing with inclusion at local, state and federal levels.  We put on workshops, seminars, presentations and trainings for parents and school personnel.

The Inclusive Network has been established for six years.  Our membership continues to grow and so does the list of families that we have helped over the years. Our values and beliefs are in line with the Arc Michigan and we hope to work closely with them in the near future.  We will continue to collaborate with local agencies to present information to parents and professionals that will help our children be fully included in all aspects of life for many years to come.
