The Arc of St. Clair County is commited to supporting and protecting the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and advocating for their full inclusion and participation in the community.



The Arc represents the only community based non-profit throughout the nation working for people with I/DD throughout their lifetimes and across all diagnosis-from Autism to Down Syndrome to Fragile X and more than 100 other developmental disabiltiies.

 

Each year more than 500 residents in St. Clair County and their family members turn to the Arc to serve, support and advocate on their behalf.  The Arc fosters change and expands opportuity in every aspect of their lives, allowing them to strive for and ultimately attain their goals.

 

The Arc of St. Clair County champions the civil rights of people with I/DD in areas such as special education law, housing, health care, recreation and more.  The Arc works through a variety of channels to foster respect, raise awareness and change attitudes about people with I/DD to remove barriers to a society that truly embraces full inclusion and acceptance.

 

 

The Arc of St. Clair County is a private non-profit organization that relies soley on the support of our community to continue our mission.  As a United Way funded agency our commitment is 100% to the community we serve.
